SkyPirate’s PML Io on the pad

Hotter Than…
McGregor, Texas
This Dallas Area Rocket Society launch which was postoned numerous times because of rain, was renamed, "Hotter Than Hell" and it was pretty hot. Of course if I had waited until Sunday, the weather was unseasonably cool. It had been over a year since I had flown any LMR or HPR and it was great to launch three rockets in record time for me.

This was the second rocket launch where I got to use my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 camera. These photos were an improvement over the previous launch, but I feel the next launch is when I will hit my stride with this camera.

My Public Missiles Io rocket on the pad, ready to make its third flight on an Aerotech F52W.

PML Patriot on the pad   The SkyPirate’s PML Patriot on the pad, ready to launch on an Aero-Tech H123W. If you are unfamiliar with the hobby and need a reference to the size of these rockets, that’s a small car battery on the left and a clipboard behind it. On the right is my hat. This was a medium sized rocket, several were twice this size.
